Stories from Väruld
Stories from the world of Väruld.
Whispers of poems, fragments of lore, and echoes of distant journeys. Some tales unfold in moments, others across many paths. Voices shaped by AI bring the realm to life — diverse, timeless, and just beyond the veil of reality. Updated weekly.
Väruld is a fantasy world I have created, which also includes books with detailed descriptions and novels.
All stories (unless otherwise stated) are written by me, Désirée Nordlund.

HostToday we shall talk a little bit more about what is behind the scenes of this podcast. And, as last time, I have the writer with me, represented with an AI voice. Welcome, Désirée.
AI-DésiréeThank you for me being here. And thank you for your interest in my podcast.
HostYou know you're the writer of both our dialogues, right?
AI-DésiréeYes. But it gets a better format this way than just me talking.
HostYou gave us the basics of the lore of Väruld last time. How did you come up with the lore?
AI-DésiréeIt started with Big Bang. I was asking myself how it could be described as lore and legends, like a story of creation in different religious texts.
HostSo your text, before time there was nothing. Nothing was endless and timeless. Nothing was void, without form or content or life. Then time started, and nothing was no longer nothing. That is Big Bang? Yes. I read somewhere that before Big Bang there was no time. That even time started then. It's an interesting idea, I think. Mind-bending, yes, but for poetic lore, it's great.
PresenterAnd the gods were created too, I believe?
AI-DésiréeYes. They were created in the rim of the warmth from the first sun.
PresenterI'd love to hear more about this in the next episode. You've worked a lot with AI voices now. Any experiences to share?
AI-DésiréeThey have become a lot better than when I started using them just a couple of years ago. But still I have problems when a text ends. When you read that final sentence, you slow down. Right? And AI Voice doesn't know that. I always need to make adjustments for that.
HostHow?
AI-DésiréeI can put three dots between the words, but it can get too slow. I've also tried to fix the tempo in the mixing. It's delicate work. Hard to get it right.
HostWell, thank you for this time.
AI-DésiréeThank you. And thanks to you who listen.
PresenterThank you for listening to Stories ruldfrom ä. In the next episode, the Location of Frede.
