Documents from the Library of Kennis

Standalone episode — no prior listening required.

Two minutes tracing a sword that outlived its purpose.
Following preserved accounts from the Library of Kennis, a chronicler examines the lost sword of Sidensol — a ceremonial blade from a time of peace, valued more for what it represented than for what it ever struck. Once recorded, later misplaced, and now known only through fragments.

A brief record of authority, symbols mistaken for power, and the quiet fate of objects meant to endure without being used.

You are listening to Stories From Väruld. In this episode, the Lost Sword of Sidensol

Sidensol was once the sword of King Grote Oude of Gulhuva kingdom. It was known for its handle more than its blade. Most likely, the blade had never tasted blood. It was a kingly sword for a time in peace. In peace, you can make a sword a decorative item with gems because you do not risk losing it in a fight. And a king does not even need to use his sword. The handle of the sword is said to be all golden with gems. And to be long even for a two-handed sword. It is also wrapped with fine silk. The cross guard had two rubies in each end, reaching through, being visible on both sides, shining when the light struck them. Across from one side to the other was a line of nine small pearls of absolute equal size. As the kingdom of Gulhuva was dissolved and neglected, the whereabouts of the royal sword were forgotten. Some say it must be in the ruins of the castle at Frede. Some say that it most likely followed the last king into the grave.
