You are listening to Stories from Väruld. In this episode, Obituary Of Nod from Fakhur.
The Mayor of FakhurIn the annals of our quaint town's history, we bid a rather perplexed farewell to young Nod. Clad in, well, less than desirable attire, she fancied herself a connoisseur of, dare I say, the less conventional aspects of sustenance acquisition. Her rather unique taste for acquiring, shall we say, rustic provisions, recently culminated in quite the spectacle. A gallows dance, if you will. It's truly remarkable how a slice of bread, which we all know can be quite easily procured from a reputable bakery, took centre stage in Nod's escapades. An endeavor so baffling to in a world like ours, where sustenance is readily accessible. And so, in an ironic twist befitting a dramatic comedy, Nod's culinary conquest led her to a fate we can only regard with a mixture of bemusement and curiosity. Stealing bread to meet one's next life. Quite the plot twist indeed. As I pen this, reclining comfortably in the opulence that surrounds me, I can't help but marvel at the intriguing tale of young Nod, who preferred to steal instead of doing an honest day's work to earn her bread. May she live her next life in whatever manner befits one of those lazy creatures who so unwillingly rise from the mud where they were born. And let her story remind us that even in the midst of life's culinary oddities, there's a certain charm to be found.
